Camp Eureka
Eureka Outdoor Camp is operated by the Advantage Society for Children with Learning Disabilities in British Columbia. The Advantage Society has been offering outdoor recreational programs for children and adolescents with invisible disabilities since 1980. Check out their site for detailed camp information.

The Association Home page will put you in contact with Associations
around the Country. It is a good place to start. There is basic information
about learning disabilities. Some associations list their websites or you
may go directly to Vancouver Chapter.
Learning Disabilities Online
An interactive guide to learning disabilities for parents, teachers,
children and youth. The site is maintained by Project WETA, Washington,
DC. The site is a wealth of LD related information and is updated weekly.
The Federation of Invisible Disabilities
This Canadian site has a forum for parents and professionals to collaborate on issues such as brain injuries, autism, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, Learning Disabilities etc. Worth a look!

This is the chapters home page. The site has current information including
links, resources upcoming conferences and more.
LD Pride Online
This is online home of Vancouver Island Invisible Disability Association, a non profit organization serving adults with a wide range of invisible disabilities including learning disabilities, Attention Deficit Disorder, Asperger's Syndrome, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome and mental illness. It is also a excellent source of information and support for adults with invisible disabilities.

International Dyslexia Association
This is the main home page. It will lead you to other IDA around the
world including Canada.
This is an extensive site with current information and research developments
in the area of dyslexia. There are several links to more information.
Brain Injury Association

A general information site with chat and hundreds of associated links.
An excellent start for information in this category. Links to Provincial
and Local Associations on the web including Nipissing, Newfoundland, Ontario,
and Saskatchewan. Canadian and US referral.
Brain Injury Association (USA)
A great supplement to the Canadian version. Topics covered include
prevention, research, international conferences, publications, a kids corner
and fantastic links with a personal touch. If you are interested in this
field this site is a must.
Canadian Brain Injury Coalition
An advocacy oriented site with good resources and information. Maintained
by the Brain Injury Association of Manitoba.

Web Site
Although US originated a great site for everyone to bookmark. It includes
general information about ADD, parent tips, and research results. The site
is mostly Links which are rated according to good, better, best. This can
save a lot of time when looking for good information. This is one of the
better ADD dedicated sites.
Children and Adults with Attention Deficits
Disorder - CHADD (USA)
This site is much more established than it's Canadian counterpart.
Book mark it as a good supplement.
Integrated Network of Disabilities (INDIE)
A search engine for disability related information and resources on
the web. A great supplement to the Red Book. Canadian and US referral.
Tourrette Syndrome Foundation of Canada
A Great interactive site for the whole family. French and English,
with a cradle to grave approach for organizing information.
Information Services, Canadian Centre on Substance Abuse
A searchable database of current information and research related to
Fetal Alcohol Effects and Syndrom. A good start to this topic and the web
as extensive Links have been provided.
Learning Disabilities Resource Community
The LDRC is a virtual information community open to anyone affected by learning disabilities either as an individual with an LD, a parent, teacher, researcher, or a concerned community member.

This is a list of parent resources. It is part of a bigger host site.
The list is linked and makes it easy to get right to the good stuff. This
is a fast way to get started. I found great information through this list.
Government of Canada
This is the Federal Governments Home Page. You can access all programs
and services, publications and forums from here. It is heavily linked.
A great starting point for government information.
Statistics Canada
Every Canadian Statistic you can think of. Keep in mind they are generated
by the government so you won't find hockey stats here. Great resource for
papers or reports and interesting for the sake of knowing what makes up
Canadians.
Health Canada
A searchable database consisting of current Canadian health and wellness
policy and research.
Government of British Columbia
This site lists all current programs and services provided by the provincial
government, including contact information, news releases and political
members. It is searchable and linked to other provincial resources.
Ministry of Education of British Columbia
This site is a must. It is a wealth of information with downloadable
documents such as the Freedom of Information and Privacy Act, IEP How-to's,
Homework Guideline, the School Act and School Law. The site is aimed at
teachers, parents and students. I was pleased to find what I did here.

This is the home page of a searchable database. It is very extensive
and contains anything and everything to do with education. It is an international
database so you must pay attention to the source. This site is a must as
it covers current issues, curriculum, lesson plans, policies etc. It is
aimed at teachers however, every parent should bookmark this site.
British Columbia Parent Advisory Committee
(BCCPAC)
This is the CPAC and DPAC Home Page. A searchable site and an excellent
resource for any parent. The site boasts current educational issues, recommendation,
and policies, tips for parents, advocacy aid and more Canadian links.
Ministry of Children and Families
A searchable database to assist persons through the Ministry process.
It provides contacts across BC, a system outline, answers to frequently
asked questions and links to more services.
Canadian Human Rights Commission
A technical, but well organized site with sub categories including
disabilities. Up to date news releases, articles and links. A must know
for all Canadians.
Canadian Mental Health Association
A great introduction to the services and programs provided by the Association.
Good general information and access to free publications. A great start
to other resources on the web.
World Health Organization
A searchable database for official definitions and policies about
universal health and wellness. If you want the straight facts this is it.
A one stop shop for everything. Several online medical journals are linked
here as well.
